Then you have probably been banned. This is due to one of the following things:

1. You did not pay your membership fees on time. As soon as you have done this, you will be unblocked by us. You can find the invoice in your mailbox and in your e-mail inbox.
You can find out how to unblock yourself here.

2. You did not show us your rental agreement or paid the registration deposit by the deadline after registering. As soon as you have done this, you will be unblocked by us. You can find our bank details here.

3. Malicious traffic is coming from your IP address and the RWTH firewall contacted us. Your access was then blocked by either the firewall or the Netzwerk-AG. We will contact you via email to fix the problem. Only after a problem analysis and an agreement with us can we release your internet access again.

If you have forgotten your house password: Visit us in our Netzwerk-AG consultation hour and we will reset it. After that you must change your house password here .

If you have forgotten your WiFi password, but you still know your house password, you can change it yourself here . Otherwise we can tell you your WiFi password in our Netzwerk-AG consultation hour .

Please make sure to remember your access data better in the future.

Then your device probably does not support the security protocol WPA2 Enterprise, which the tuermeroam uses.
This applies to smart home devices and game consoles.
We operate another WLAN network in parallel specifically for such devices, to which we can add your device.

Then you are either using the wrong settings or the wrong login data.

You can find the correct settings here, you can change the WLAN-password here using the house password.

Above all, make sure that you don't use your usual username for the WLAN connection, but username@weh.rwth-aachen.de .
Also make sure that MAC-Address Randomization is disabled on your device!

If all else fails, join us at the Netzwerk-AG consultation hour. Of course, the problem can always be caused by an error on our part.

Each device must be registered once. Visit the website https://getnet.weh.rwth-aachen.de with the device.
If you have already registered a device, you can also register the MAC address of another device here as an alternative to registering via getnet.

Caution: A MAC address must never be entered for two IP addresses! In addition, each IP address should normally only have one MAC address assigned.

If you are unsure about the setup or need help, please contact us !

Then you can also register the device manually. Register the MAC-Adress of the device here .

Caution: A MAC address must never be entered for two IP addresses! In addition, each IP address should normally only have one MAC address assigned.

If you are unsure about the setup or need help, please contact us !

A device has multiple MAC addresses for different types of connections. You should register the MAC addresses associated with your WiFi and Ethernet network cards on the same IP-Address . The procedure is explained here.
Switching between WiFi and wired connection may take some time.

Caution: A MAC address must never be entered for two IP addresses!
Except for this specific case, you should never register two MAC addresses to the same IP address.

If you are unsure about the setup or need help, please contact us !

This is no problem, contact the Netzwerk-AG .

We only distribute 5 IPs per resident to discourage account sharing.

This is due to the structure of our network system.

The RWTH blocks certain ports for security reasons.

Wir können aber Portfreigaben beantragen oder versuchen deinem Gerät eine Public-IP zuzuweisen -> please contact us !

1. Always keep your operating system up to date (e.g. activate automatic updates)
2. Healthy skepticism about all emails, websites, etc., including downloaded software
3. Use a virus scanner. We recommend using the Sophos Antivirus, which is provided free of charge by the RWTH
4. Do not work with administrator rights
5. Keep application software up to date
6. Use a personal firewall

NO!!! In the case of private devices, we have no control over the setup, often inexpensive devices in particular do not even offer a minimum level of security, but there are gaping security gaps. Weak encryption settings then lead to the security of our home network being massively endangered.

Setting up a personal private WLAN is expressly forbidden and will be prosecuted by us!

To get your deposit back, yes!

The opt-out procedure is described here .

If you do not unsubscribe, you will remain a member of WEH e.V. until the Vorstand removes the inactive members. This happens about every two years and only affects members who have already moved out for more than 6 months.

Either through our Webmailer, or by connecting your mailbox to an email client. See here.

We have three different mailing lists for circular emails to all WEH residents.

Any resident can send messages to community@.
Only AG members are allowed to send to important@.
Only AG-speakers, the Housspeakers and Netzwerk-AG are allowed to send to essential@.

You can here set which of these distribution lists you want to receive.

You cannot unsubscribe from the essential mailing list, as this is where emails are sent, which must be read by members in accordance with Section 3 Paragraph 2 of our statutes.

You can here set the email address to which all emails from the club should be sent.

Of course! A black and white laser printer is located on the ground floor, to the right of the main entrance, directly behind the entrance to the study room.

The costs of your print jobs are automatically deducted from your Account .

You can find the price list for different types of printing here.

You can view your print jobs here .

You can select “Drucken” from the drop-down menu above your payments table to filter your print jobs.

In the past it happened that someone who printed a lot of sheets in the next job accidentally took the sheets of the previous person.

Contact the Netzwerk-AG.

Then the Netzwerk-AG is probably already in the process of repairing it, as we are automatically alerted.

The printer is usually operational again within a few hours. However, keep in mind that the members of the Netzwerk-AG are also only students and may need some time for this.

You can create it yourself by simply registering with your house login data on the cloud website .

Yes, please contact us for this! We will then create a group to which you can then add users yourself.

Please note that the residents do not automatically have an account in the cloud, they must first create one.

On the 0th floor there are four resident rooms, the living room and the conference room.

You can book the rooms and borrow a key. The procedure is explained here.

However, you can enter the elevator from the 0th floor. Please make sure to lock all doors before you leave the living room!

You can do not just put your bike in the basement. These are pitches for which you need an assignment.

In front of the main entrance you can park your bike on any free stand as long as you don't obstruct another bike. Behind the tower there is a covered row of bicycle racks.

Join the queue here .

There are plenty of parking spaces around the tower that do not require a parking permit.

If you stop briefly outside of the marked parking area to unload or similar, this is usually not a problem. Be careful not to block any entrances, especially when there are workers at the tower.
